I missed the announcement of Rick's passing but am saddened to hear of it in a classmate's comment. Rick and I were always friendly but not close friends during our high school years. Fortunately, two reunions ago we had a lengthy, and gratifying chat about the trials and tribulations of becoming old men during the intervening years between high school and the reunion. I was looking forward to seeing him at our 65th and most recent reunion but I guess it was too late. I shall remember him most warmly and meaningfully through that sweet moment we shared two reunions ago. I am pleased that his was a life well lived.
If my memory is still intact, I remember a pre-Reunion get together at Rick's in Birmingham for one of the 2 previous reunions. It was so nice to visit with the people I had connected with in High School and many who I have stayed connected with. It was a special time and got to reacquaint with him. I am so sad to see my valuable memories dwindle. My condolences to his family and close friends. /Ellen
