Surprised more people haven't placed a comment about Jim.  He was so well liked.  Many of us were so concerned when he became ill and at one point we were sure he was going to be ok.   But no.

When he was dating Denise (his wife), I was married and we all became friends, meeting in the lobby at Olympia during the intermissions at the hockey games.  Denise gave him a live rabbit as a gift one time.  Jim couldn't keep it and got me to take it for my kids.  That rabbit lived a long time, ran loose through the house, was best friends with dog, and always did it's droppings in a litter box to my surprise.  We always considered Jim to be the rabbit's real owner.

We continued to be friends.  Jim was always smiling whenever I'd see him.  Such a fun great guy.  Miss him.

We'd pass each other in downtown Birmingham. "Everything good?" he'd ask. What a terrific guy.

I remember studying with Jimmy and our buds for exams in Mr. Gornbein's Contemporary Affairs (or was it "Events"?) class.

Such a loss.
