Met Mel Ball while taking dance lessons at the Joe Cornell Studio on Wyoming, I was in 10th grade. When Mel and I were partnered to dance, Joe Cornell said we both had no rhythn and we were not keeping time with the music. Surprised when I was at a Bar Mitzvah many years later and Mel's band provided the entertainment. He played at many many affairs. I wonder if Joe Cornell knew Mel had a band? Mel was a very nice person. Sorry to hear of his passing.
