Richard was a close friend of mine in high school. I met up with him when he was about 50. He was a dedicated educator, a serious feminist, and a published poet. He died in 1994, at age 53.
Richard sat next to me in the auditorium class (yes there was a class like that) at Pasteur Elementary.This was our first class in the morning and it functioned more like a homeroom class. He was a very very nice person and quite an interesting guy. This was an 8th grade class and we were given a lot of free areas to study, like play scripts, poetry, and short stories. I'm not surprised he was into poetry as an adult. Such a nice person. Will always remember him for the kind person he was.
